Getting There
I decided to visit the Pizza Hut Restaurant in South Wimbledon, South West London. It’s located at Abbey Mills, SW19 2RD, just a 13-minute walk from South Wimbledon Station. There’s a fairly large car park too, but note there are restrictions – the first two hours are free.
I’d heard the salad bar was surprisingly good and that the pizzas were average – so I thought, let’s see what it’s like for myself.
First Impressions
I arrived around 2pm on a weekday and it was fairly quiet. A lovely waitress greeted me and told me I could sit anywhere I liked. The restaurant itself is quite spacious, which was a pleasant surprise.
I was a bit confused about where to sit — ha — but eventually picked a quiet corner to settle in. The décor caught my eye too, a bit of an unexpected touch for a Pizza Hut. The friendly waitress brought over three menus: one for lunch options, another with special offers, and a third for the buffet.

In the end, I went for the buffet, mainly because of the weekday offer for £10. On weekends it goes up to £15, so I thought I’d make the most of the weekday deal.

One thing to note — this Pizza Hut is cashless, and you order via QR code at the table. Just something to be aware of, especially with more and more places going cash-free these days.
The Buffet Experience
Ordering via QR code was fairly easy, and the place has Wi-Fi, so if you’re having trouble connecting, just ask a staff member. Once ordered, I received an email confirmation.
I then headed to the buffet station and asked a staff member for tap water. They brought over a glass, and I helped myself at the drinks station — quite handy, really.
No service charge is added here either, which I think is always worth pointing out. You choose your own bowl for salad and a plate for pizza, pasta, or garlic bread – all included in the buffet.
Veggie Options & Food Quality
There were plenty of vegetarian options: Margherita pizza, vegetable pizza, cheesy crust, and tomato penne pasta. I thought that was a decent selection, and there were two deep pan pizzas and a thin crust too.

The person working in the kitchen was very attentive and made sure the buffet stand was always full. I even thought I’d change it up a bit and take some “true” photos of me eating — something different!
As for the taste — the food didn’t have much flavour, but it wasn’t inedible either. It was definitely better with the salad. Would I come again? I’m not sure — but for £10 with unlimited salad, and a peaceful place to sit without an added service charge, you really can’t complain.

Extra Thoughts
I had a couple of slices of pizza and two full bowls of salad, and I felt satisfied. At buffets, it’s easy to overdo it, but I’ve learned to avoid the post-lunch bloat.
Before leaving, I used the washroom – I always find it interesting to see what toilet facilities are like in each place. These ones were well maintained and clean. No complaints!
I said goodbye to the friendly waiter and made my way out.

Thanks again for reading my blog. With each post, I’ll keep working on improving my writing style and restaurant experiences. Until next time!
