Copper Chimney – Lunch Experience

A Visit to Copper Chimney – Indian Restaurant in White City, London

After a long day out and about, I decided to try something new and found myself at Copper Chimney, an Indian restaurant just a short walk from Westfield London in White City. The restaurant is located on Southern Terrace, Ariel Way, London W12 7GA, and honestly, the exterior really drew me in. With warm lighting and a modern yet classic look, it had a certain charm that made me curious to check it out.

Warm Welcome at Copper Chimney, Indian Restaurant in White City

Once I stepped inside Copper Chimney Indian Restaurant near Westfield London, I was greeted by a cosy little lobby area that felt really welcoming. The staff at reception gave me a warm smile and asked if I had a table booked. I hadn’t made a reservation, but they reassured me it was no problem and kindly showed me to a table. Straight away, I was impressed by the beautiful interior. The warm lighting and stylish décor made it feel like a great spot for Indian dining in White City. Definitely one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve visited near Westfield!

Thali Lunch Deal at Copper Chimney – A Tempting Offer

Once I sat down, a friendly waiter came over and handed me the menus. There was the regular main menu with all their classic Indian dishes, but what really caught my eye was a separate menu they gave me – it was for a Thali Lunch offer at just £15 per person. I thought that was a pretty decent deal, especially in London. I told the waiter I’d take a look, and when he asked about drinks, I kept it simple and ordered some tap water.

What I Ordered – Thali Lunch at Copper Chimney

I went for the Thali Lunch – it really grabbed my attention, and I liked the idea of sampling a few different dishes. Sometimes when you’re eating alone, you can only pick one thing off the menu, but this way, I could try a nice little variety.

For my main, I chose the Paneer Masala, and for the side, I picked the Dal Tadka. The naan and a street-style chaat came as part of the thali, which I thought was a nice touch. I didn’t go for any extras this time, but I’ve already told myself that if I come back, I’m definitely tempted to try the Roast Paneer Tikka – it looked amazing on the menu.

The staff were really friendly and attentive. As soon as I put the menu down, someone came over to take my order. They told me the food would take around 15 minutes, which I was more than fine with – I wasn’t in any rush.

Taking a Quick Break – Checking Out the Toilets at Copper Chimney

As I waited for my meal, I decided to check out the toilets at Copper Chimney. I’m always curious to see how restaurants manage their restroom facilities. I asked the waiter, who pointed me towards a flight of stairs. While I believe I saw a lift, I can’t confirm that it was available. The stairs weren’t too much of a hassle, and once I reached the top, I found a small foyer area where I could catch my breath and soak in the surroundings before entering the bathrooms.

The bathroom setup impressed me – there were no urinals, and the toilet and sink were separated by individual doors, giving it a more luxurious feel. It’s these little details that add to the overall experience and create a more upscale atmosphere.

My Thali Lunch at Copper Chimney – A Feast for the Senses

After returning from the bathroom, I was definitely feeling hungry! I waited a few more minutes, and the waitress brought my Thali Lunch. It looked absolutely delicious and I was really impressed with the presentation. The naan looked incredibly fresh, and there were poppadoms on the plate, which is always a nice touch.

To my surprise, there was also a Gulab Jamun included. I didn’t realize a sweet treat would come with the meal, so this was a pleasant surprise. For those unfamiliar with it, Gulab Jamun is an Indian dessert made of fried dough balls soaked in a sweet, sticky sugar syrup. It’s the perfect end to an already amazing meal.

The food was absolutely tasty, and for me, it was plenty. The paneer was well-cooked and not rubbery, which can often be a problem with paneer dishes. I’ve had paneer before that can get a bit chewy, but this wasn’t the case at all. In fact, I probably ate it so quickly that it likely took them longer to cook! The waitress asked if I needed anything else, but I was happy and simply asked for the bill.

Just a heads-up, Copper Chimney does add a service charge to the total bill, but considering the lovely ambience and excellent service, I was more than happy to pay it.

Final Thoughts

My visit to Copper Chimney at Westfield White City was a really enjoyable experience. From the warm welcome at the entrance to the beautifully presented vegetarian thali, everything felt well thought out. The service was attentive, the decor was stylish, and the food – especially the paneer masala – hit the spot. I also appreciated the small details, like the sweet surprise of a gulab jamun and the peaceful upstairs area near the bathrooms.

If you’re looking for a flavourful Indian vegetarian lunch in West London, I’d definitely recommend checking this place out. I’m already planning my next visit to try that Roast Paneer Tikka!
